Tectonatica pusilla (72957)
This moonsnail is a voracious, predatory carnivore. It uses its huge foot to plough through the sediment, engulfing any small invertebrates in its path. Moonsnails exert a large amount of predation pressure on their community, and may be responsible for decreasing the diversity, evenness, density, and amount of species in the community. In addition, their disturbance of sediment decreases the number of spionid polychaetes that can inhabit the same area.
